The writing of these songs straddled a particularly gnarly mental health episode I had in 2022, after which I initially felt that I was ruined both as an artist and as a person.

My realization that some songs I had written before and since that episode could comprise this record, and that making it might be worth lifting myself from self-loathing, has meant a whole lot, and I am really grateful to whoever gives audience to this small collection of songs, which to me are all about lacking and going without.
